Connecting your server
In the app, tap Connect your server. Enter the address you open Paperclip at in a browser, for example http://my-mac.local:3100. For the key, run paperclipai auth login on your server and paste the board API key. If your server runs in local trusted mode, leave the key empty. To reach your server away from home, Paperclip recommends Tailscale.
Trying it without a server
Tap Try the demo on the first screen. Everything works with sample data and nothing is sent anywhere.
Turning on alerts (Pro)
- In the app, open Settings, then Notifications, and tap Create pairing code.
- On the computer that runs Paperclip (Node 20 or newer), run:
npx -y --package=https://boardglance.pages.dev/bridge.tgz boardglance-bridge pair <code> - Then keep this running, for example in a terminal or as a service:
npx -y --package=https://boardglance.pages.dev/bridge.tgz boardglance-bridge run
The bridge checks Paperclip every 30 seconds. Alerts are encrypted on your computer with a key only your iPhone has, so our relay cannot read them. The bridge is open source (MIT): download the package.
Pro and restoring purchases
Reading is free. Pro lets you approve requests, pause agents and get alerts. On a new iPhone, open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases.
Canceling a subscription
Open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Boardglance.
Deleting your data
In the app, swipe left on a server in Settings and tap Remove. This deletes its key from your iPhone and removes your iPhone from the relay. Settings, Notifications, Turn off notifications does the same for alerts only.
What Boardglance can see
The app talks straight to your own server. We never receive your Paperclip data, keys or alert contents. Read the privacy policy.
